We’re a geek site, so obligatory “Captain America” trailer that you’ve probably watched a dozen times already.
And now on with the convention news.
- Whole mess of news coming out of Florida Supercon today. Eisner Award winning artist and guy who drew a good chunk of the inspiration for the movie trailer Kevin Maguire is a guest, as is voice actor Troy Baker, and the band Motion City Soundtrack will be headlining the show.
Whole mess of Wondercon news as well. You can check out all their exclusive merchandise here. Neil Gaiman. Mark Sheppard and Toby Haynes will be in a Doctor Who panel moderated by The Nerdist’s Chris Hardwick. And that pretty little piece of artwork to the right by Frank Quitely? That’s the convention guide cover.- Texas Frightmare Weekend has “Hobo with a Shotgun” director Jason Eisener as a guest.
- Flemish cartoonist Brecht Evens will be at Toronto Comic Arts Festival.
- Artist William Hood‘s making an appearance at Derby City Con in Louisville.

- If you are going to GIJoeCon this year, you are probably not going to have to worry about not having anything to buy — they have just under 200 dealer tables reserved for the con.

- Spooky Empire’s May-Hem in Orlando announced a few more guests — “Texas Chainsaw Massacre:The Beginning” star Diora Baird, “The Blob” star Michael Kenworthy and “Evil Dead” FX artist Tom Sullivan, which raises their number of people involved with the “Evil Dead” movies to nine.
- Going to Anime Conji in San Diego and forget to bring food? They’ve got a con suite for that.
- Would be artists, Dark Horse will be doing portfolio reviews at the Spokane Comicon May 21 at 3PM.
- Anime Detour in Minnesota posted their gaming and guest signing schedule.
Me Grimlock Going to Supercon!

You want to meet bestest Transformer ever? Me, Grimlock., no actually be at Florida Supercon, but him original voice artist, Gregg Berger, am being there! Him am being voice artist on many, many, many other voices, like Odie on “The Garfield Show” and Galactus in “Marvel Ultimate Alliance.” But them no am Grimlock! Grimlock is Grimlock!
Unless Grimlock is Swoop. Me am confused.

Howdy, Conmaniacs. Were you like me an skip the Oscars? I think I’d rather bash my foot in with a hammer before watching an entire awards ceremony. But now, what you’re really here for – NEWS!
Dallas, home of the Cowboys, last year’s Superbowl, and the Dallas Comic Con, which just announced that it has 100% more John Romita Jr. as guests. I have never seen a man sketch a Spider-Man face faster at a con than JRJr.- Are you a professional comics-type person? Best be heading over to the Comic Con International webpage, because professional registration is now open - for now. Seriously, nothing lasts for long in San Diego.
- Botcon just opened up a third block of hotels. They also turn into robots.
- Whole bunches of Twilight con tix on sale! Cincinnati, Baltimore, Boston!
- Trying to get discovered at Emerald City Comicon? Try sucking up to the editorial team DC announced is going to be at the show – Editor-in-Chief BOB HARRAS, Vertigo Senior Editor WILL DENNIS, DC Digital Group Editor BEN ABERNATHY and DC Group Editor MATT IDELSON. Also, portfolio reviews will be conducted at the DC booth on Friday (4-6pm) and Saturday (3-5pm).
